Tuesday 06/21/2011  -Why Change Initiatives Fail - and How HR Can Ensure Successful Change

75% of change initiatives fail. Former Tri-STATE SHRM founder and president, Geri Puleo's dissertation research has revealed that this high rate of failure may be due to employee burnout. Geri will discuss the results of her recent research on employee burnout during change initiatives and offer tools and programs that Human Resources Professionals can use to help prevent high performers from leaving during the most critical times in an organization's growth and metamorphosis. Attendees will learn how to gauge employee burnout and proactively address issues before they lead to an exodus of the organization's most important asset - the people.

Presenter: Geri Puleo, MA, MBA, SPHR, Geri Puleo is the principal and founder of G. A. Puleo & Associates, a training and consulting firm that specializes in strategies to maximize organizational and individual performance through strategic change. An entrepreneur with over 25 years’ experience, Ms. Puleo's credentials include: national certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources; M.A. in Human Resources & Industrial Relations Management and MBA with a concentration in Leadership. Currently, Ms. Puleo is a Ph.D. candidate in Applied Management & Decision Sciences with a concentration in Leadership and Change Management. Ms. Puleo is the author a monthly HR column at www.-emagnify.com (the official website of the National Education Center for Women in Business).
