    Tuesday 3/19/13 –  The Affordable Care Act

    Participants will receive information about:

    The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) is the new health care reform bill which was signed into law on March 10, 2011. While the law is complex, West Virginians for Affordable Health Care has been educating individuals, agencies, nonprofits, businesses, and health care providers and a variety advocates about the new law for the last two years.  When the law is fully implemented, tens of thousands of West Virginians will gain access to coverage.

    1. What is in the law and what isn’t
    2. How the law affects individuals and small businesses
    3. When new provisions of the law take affect
    4. How the new state health insurance exchange, or ‘marketplace’ will work
    5. Examples of how the premium tax credits will work for individuals
    6. What Insurance Industry reforms are included in the ACA

    Speakers:

    Lisa Diehl - North Central Coordinator for West Virginians for Affordable Health Care and Federal Issues Coordinator for WV Citizen Action

    This program is pending 1.5 credit hours of general recertification credit from the HRCI.
