Tuesday 11/19/2020 – "COVID-19: Employment Lessons for HR Professionals"
Objective:
On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) a pandemic. On March 13, 2020, President Donald Trump declared a national emergency in the US in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The global span, speed, and depth of disruption caused by COVID-19 is unprecedented, leading employers into uncharted territory, and leaving Human Resource professionals scrambling to address a myriad of new and constantly changing laws and regulations, government health and safety orders, and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control. In this program, we will address employment lessons every Human Resource professional should learn from COVID-19 regarding leaves of absence, telework, wage and hour issues, disability accommodation, layoffs/furloughs, unemployment compensation, and emergency preparedness.
