02/15/2011 The Benefits of Hiring or Retaining Employees with Disabilites. An overview of the ADA, the 2008 Amendments Acts and Reasonable Accommodations
This interactive seminar will inform HR professionals and business leaders of their responsibilites to applicants & employees with disabilites as well as employer rights under the ADA. Participants will gain knowledge on various resources available to help them in the retension of employees who aquire a disability including incentives and reasonable accommodations.
Speakers:Rob Hodapp & Jeffrey Seabury
Rob Hodapp is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pa. He has been assisting people with various disabilites in getting employment since 1992. Rob currently works as an Employer Outreach Specialist for Pa’s Office of Vocational Rehabilitation providing information to employers on incentives for hiring people with disabilites and retaining current employees with disabilities including Tax credits, On-The-Job-Training (OJT) as well as consultation on the ADA and 2008 Amendments Acts and reasonable accommodations.
Jeff Seabury-is a Placement Counselor for Pa’s Office of Vocational Rehabilitation with over 20 years of vocational placement experience for people with disabilites. He has been a great resource to many employers in Southwest Pa, providing them with qualified employees as well as providing employers with resources to retain current employees who acquire a disability while employed. Jeff has extensive knowledge on OJTs and has had great success in developing reasonable accommodations in the retension of workers who aquire a disability.
